When was the last time you felt very energetic, happy, and alive? Why? Write it down.
People are at their best when they think and do the things that matters most in their lives. People based their significant decisions on their values. And people are different because they have different set of values. You can deal with “difficult” people when you know how their values are similar and different to yours. You can lead, motivate, and inspire a revolution by appealing to the values of people.
Most people know the importance of values, but very few take time to examine their values. Some values are limiting, while others are empowering. Identify which values prevent you from becoming your best. Create new set of values to clarify the standard you are setting for yourself. I am reminded of what Henry Ford did. He wrote on a piece of paper the 17 values he wanted to practice in a year. He practiced each value one week at a time. After 17 weeks, he repeated the process that at the end of the year he was able to practice and master the 17 values he set for himself.
Success in life does not depend on the valuables we hold in our hands, but on the values we embrace in our hearts. Set a high standard for yourself. Try what Henry Ford did.
Create more empowering values.
