There are teachers whose influence on my life will remain long after I am gone. Wherever I speak, I bring a part of them in me. These days, I train leaders and I speak to thousands of people on how to make great happen in their lives.
And I do so because of the great teachers who inspired and brought out the best in me.
I will always be thankful to Mrs. Yanga, Ms. Mojica, Mr. Baraceros, and Dr. Celedonio Aguilar. They and many more have made my life more meaningful.
For nine years I was a teacher for high school students. I taught in college for three years. And I can say that I am still teaching these days. I teach professionals, and some teachers, how to become better leaders.
These days, it is easy to keep ourselves updated about our former students. Seeing how to succeed in life is an affirmation that I did something right in my life. I felt old, of course. But it is great to grow old when you know you have made a difference in someone’s life.
May this guide inspire you to teach the best way you can. May you teach us to touch lives. I will share lessons from my experiences, which may help new and veteran teachers improve their teaching.
Who are teachers?
Teachers are individuals who have been trained and qualified to educate and guide students in various academic and skill-based subjects. They are responsible for creating lesson plans, imparting knowledge, and fostering an environment that promotes learning and personal development.
Teachers often hold degrees in education or specific subject areas and are certified or licensed by relevant educational authorities.
They play a crucial role in shaping the intellectual, emotional, and social growth of their students by employing various teaching methods and techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Teachers provide support, encouragement, and mentorship to their students, helping them develop critical thinking skills, build self-confidence, and prepare for future academic, professional, and personal success.
They are also responsible for assessing and evaluating student progress, providing feedback, and communicating with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child’s education.
