Design Thinking for Teachers

Do you believe that teachers must teach students how to become innovators, entrepreneurs, problem-solvers, and changemakers?

That can be done when teachers adopt a new mindset that will also make them innovators, entrepreneurs, problem-solvers, and changemakers.

The teacher is the first curriculum. The effective teacher models the way.

Here’s an opportunity to go beyond the typical teaching technology. Yes, an opportunity to think like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jacqueline Novogratz and others who are now making a big and positive difference in the world.

Design Thinking for Teachers
Design Thinking for Teachers is a two-day workshop in which teachers will learn Design Thinking by experiencing Design Thinking. Over the course of the workshop, you, the teacher, will learn how to think and act as a designer to solve problems in key areas of education.

You will learn, try, and apply Design Thinking.

That’s the promise.

Once you, the teacher, learned Design Thinking, you’ll be ready to incorporate design principles into projects that will challenge your students to empathize with others and apply their knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems.

Again, this is not a typical workshop. You must come ready to get hands-on. You will be working with other teachers in small groups.

You’ll use Design Thinking to identify and solve real educational challenges, such as how to assess the impact of experiential learning. You’ll learn key aspects of the process through collaboration, communication, and reflection.

Design Thinking in Schools
The best schools in the world today are already practicing Design Thinking. It’s high time that we also join the teaching revolution. The Design Thinking for Teachers is limited to 30 participants.

Go Beyond Current School Models
Design Thinking will help school communities think beyond current school models. To change our schools, we must empower our teachers and school heads to experiment in order to show that change is possible.

Because Educators Must Start Asking Big Questions
So teachers can envision and create powerful models for teaching and learning, they must ask big questions about the future of school and students.

These questions include:

How might we re-imagine our public schools?
How might we reinvent professional development for teachers and school leaders?
How might we help school leaders hack toward deeper learning?

Think Big and Start Small. I think that every teacher can be a learning experience designer. It may take some work to do, but it will surely change the way we teach children.

1000x Mindset. This is the shortest distance to thinking big. 1000x Mindset is a growth mindset and every teacher will do great things when they envision possibilites.
