What does it really mean to create value?
Transform the lives of people who you intend to use your products and services.
As a teacher, you can help the uneducated to learn what matters, those afraid learners to become confident, and the uncertain to thirst for meaning.
As a leader, you can enable others to act. You can show them a new way of thinking and acting to promote them from being underachievers to high performers. You can stimulate their sense of urgency. You can provide an environment where they can outgrow themselves.
In short, to measure how you create value is to compare their before and after. Ensure that after using your products and services — that after you employed them, that after your conversations, and that after meeting you — they become better persons.
That’s how to create value.
