Start Before You Are Ready

In 2004, I wanted to be a public speaker. I joined Toastmasters. I practiced. I refined my skills.

But when it came to actually selling myself as a speaker?

I hesitated.

I felt embarrassed to charge for my speeches. I told myself, “I need to be better first. I need more experience. I need more training.”

I was stuck.

Vic didn’t tell me to book a stadium. He told me to start small—charge a little, speak for a group, get experience. Action creates confidence, not the other way around.
