Eleanor said that no one can make you feel inferior without your consent. An old concept that is always true. There are people who expect me to raise their self-esteem when they attend my speaking seminars. They are overestimating my ability. I cannot do that for them. You may influence how others look at you. However, improving how others see you will not necessarily change your self-esteem. Your self-esteem (read: the way you see yourself) is your choice. You are no longer a child. You do not need someone like me to tell you that you are unique, that you are valuable, that you are created in the image and likeness of God. I need to do that with children — because they do not know yet. You are a child no more. Choose to think highly of yourself.
