Resist the urge to criticize.

Resist the urge to criticize.

When you become aware that your spending more than 15 minutes criticizing co-employees, organizations, or the government, snap out of it. Give more attention to creating more value.

This is what I learned from the conversations I had recently.

“It doesn’t take a genius to see what’s wrong with the government. We have mediocre people branded by the president as the best and the brightest. We are surrounded by mediocre people who refuse to do what is right”.

“I know.”

” We must remind them that we are the boss.”

“It is easy to criticize. You and I feel that need to do it from time to time. But criticizing people, the government, or anything again and again is not only a waste of time. You are making yourself suffer. You are making yourself less productive. You are denying yourself the chance to be happy here and now.”

My dear friend, resist the urge to criticize and create value instead. I found out that once I criticize people for the wrongs they make, I get into downward spiral. It becomes easy to find what’s wrong.

It is easy to be irritated after your criticize someone. And it becomes easier to unfriend someone who ridiculously support what is obviously and utterly wrong.

Resist the urge to criticize. There are other ways you can do to improve the situation.

You can give more attention to personal development. Your time for improving yourself is a better investment in time and energy. You will become better in finding lasting solutions to painful problems. You are taking leadership even though you don’t have a title.

You can give more attention to volunteer jobs. For those who can’t land a job, you can teach them how to write a resume, ace an interview, and pick the best company.

You can give more attention to helping people succeed. That’s the fastest step to move upward spiral your day.

You can teach out-of-school youths so you can enable them to take charge of their lives. You will help them fight drug addiction. You’ll give them opportunities to dream.

When you become aware that your spending more than 15 minutes criticizing co-employees, organizations, or the government, snap out of it. Give more attention to creating more value.

Resist the urge to criticize. Create value.

Why Lead Better?

I believe that you and I deserve the best in the world.

We do not have to wait for others. We do not have to wait until we are ready. Waiting wastes time. I am not happy with the status quo — and I believe most of us are not happy too.

Overestimating Motivation Is Counter-productive.

The performance of employees dropped last month. Without hesitation, the manager said that the cause is lack of motivation. And everyone nodded in agreement. Lack of motivation is the safest alibi. It is safer to say that people lack motivation than to say that the leader lacks the skill to lead. It is easier to […]
