Dare to Dream Bigger Dreams

Dare to dream dreams. Do not be afraid. Do not deny yourself that opportunity to change your life and make a difference in the lives of people simply because you fear failure. The real failures in life are those who dare not dream. The real failures in life regret not those which they did, but those which they did not attempt to do.

You can reach the sky. You can make your stairway to heaven. Close your eyes and you will see. Listen to silence, hear the whispers of your heart. And you will understand that which you do not hear, that which you do not see, that which you do not feel, that which you do not taste.

I heard people say that I boasted too much about my dreams. I described things which were impossible to do. Some of them refused to listen, understand, and follow. Until someone appeared and show why dreamweaving is not a bad thing at all. So, I listened to those who say that “it can’t be done” because I respected them. But I listen more to my heart. When my heart says it can be done, then it must be done. Something is impossible until someone makes it possible. Something us unreachable until someone reach it. Mount Everest is not simply there. Hundreds, I do not know the exact number, may be thousands have already said, “I am here”.

I am here now. Not yet that high. Not yet that significant for those who has achieved so much in life. But who cares. For those who did not move because they feared failures, I am miles and miles away. I have not yet reached the top of mountain, but certainly, I am getting there. I am have not yet finished my song, but I intend to finish it sweet and strong…

This is my story. And I like to know that someone have tried to show my the difference between possible is impossible are two letters: I and M. Impossible means I’m possible. I am possible. I am possible. I am possible.

I can be the best that I can be. I can be the best that I am. I am the best Jef Menguin there is. There are so many Albert Einsteins in the world. And maybe there are many Jef Menguins too. But this Jef Menguin in this corner will continue to aspire and inspire.

I need new website headers

The facial makeover of this website is not yet over. And I need help.

Because I started changing the looks of the website, I am not starting to change my outlook. Well, the idea was always there when I started this website, but it is only now that I finally decided to put everything in the flesh.

The domain will still be http://jefmenguin.com but the website will now be titled Inspiring People. This name came to me when I was writing one of my goals in 43things. This website is about Jef Menguin inspiring people. This is also about you and the whole community of people who are passionate about changing the world one person, one employee, one father or mother or sister or friend at a time. This is about people who are inspiring people. This is about those inspiring people who continue to inspire us.

The title says that I need a new website header. I am actually looking for many website headers as the template that I have now gives me that capability. I can make headers that express the messages of the pages. But of course, I will not make 100 headers even if I will make a hundred page. I will need one in the homepage, innerpages, and the community forum. So please if you have an idea, share your thoughts with me. And when it is possible to you to help me design those headers, that will certainly be appreciated.

Best Motivational Speaker in the Philippines

I wrote about my thoughts about the “best motivational speaker in the Philippines” tag yesterday in my wordpress blog. I was inspired to write about it after visiting a site of a professional speaker who teaches people how to do internet marketing. I think he is successful in creating traffic for his site. Internet marketing enhanced his visibility. Now, we can read him, weigh his words. Right there, while reading his adventures and great descriptions of himself, we can ask ourselves one easy question: Am I now motivated to live a better life?

But to tag oneself as the best motivational speaker in the Philippine is not motivational. It speaks about the speaker’s lack of understanding of what he is doing. Of course, he has already added something to that tag. He is a motivational speaker in Asia. Pretty good marketing. However, I am yet to see a very effective motivational speakers making that claim.

Motivational speaking is not about the speaker, or the motivational speech. It is about the relationship of the speaker and his audience. The purpose of a motivational speech is to move people. The speech is only instrumental. The speaker is not the mover. What moves people are not your words, your gestures, facial expressions, or your total delivery. People are moved by their motives.

Motivational speaking is not a monologue. It is not a speaker, who told the world that he is the best motivational speaker, who motivates people. Needs motivate. Hope motivates. Fear motivates.

Abraham Lincoln, Hitler, Gandhi, Obama, Mother Teresa are motivational speakers. Francis Kong, Bo Sanchez, Mike Velarde are motivational speakers. That person who just made you buy an expensive clothing today is also a motivational speaker. Have you heard of Onofre Pagsanjan? This teacher is truly motivational. He does not know me but for two times that I was in his audience, he made me love myself even more. Motivational speakers do not tell you that they are the best. That is a no-no. Doing so is another way of telling you that the only place where you can be is to be the second best. Motivational speakers talk about your needs and how capable you are to fulfill those needs.

I respect people’s opinion about themselves. I will not contest any claim for the title. Titles are just titles. What is important is who you are when titles are taken away. Call me not a motivational speaker because that title will not improve what I already am. I am God’s masterpiece. And you are God’s masterpiece. We do not have to be the best. I simply need to give my best.

Do you like to be a motivational speaker? Please listen. Do not spend too much time on doing motivational speaking. Focus your attention on people. Know them. Love them. Serve them.

Let your audience move you.

You can be a guest blogger, a contributor, and a regular blogger in Inspiring People. Sharing your ideas will not only give you more exposure and clients. You can also inspire people through your stories. You simply need to submit one entry as your first step.

The Bucket List

Starting today, I am creating new subcategories for my blog. I have this inspiration from my 43things. Actually, I only have about 20 things listed there. People who subscribe to 43things set goals for themselves and tell their stories afterwards. Or in my case, while accomplishing my list.

It is not always easy to monitor the 43things I write, but that is easily solved by automating 43things to send you reminders about your goals.

Some years back I listed down all the things which I must do in my lifetime. Then I saw the the movie The Bucket List a month ago. I was reminded about my personal dreams. So, yes, I will start writing about my Bucket List here and I encourage you to write about your Bucket List too.

Please remember that this website has always been about my audience. That means you. You don’t know me, and it is likely that I do not know you, but that is just a bagatelle. I welcome guest bloggers, contributors, and authors. My approach in life is always simple. This is why I also thought of simple guidelines for anyone who want to submit an article. I may publish your article every week.

What are your New Year’s Resolutions?

I do not have New Year’s resolutions. I only have daily commitments and long term goals and lifetime purposes. But then again, a New Year’s resolution is always better than not having any. Many people walk on this earth not knowing how and why they live. Some of them wonder why they are not successful though. As for the rest, they no longer care.

At least, people who think of New Year’s Resolution have focused their attention on making a change in their lives even for a day or a week. There are those who take their resolutions seriously and they make things happen. Resolutions are commitments. Resolutions are not wishes. And the success of individuals defend on how they feel about “resolutions” when they make one.

What are your New Year’s resolutions? Do you think of them as commitments? Or you do you take them simply as wishes?

Some wishes do come true. Disney said it. Maybe it is good to wish too. We simply need to find that one star tonight.
