Your love means more than life to me.(1)

“What is life without love” was a line from the song of Nonoy Zuniga. Because of love, people smile non-stop, hum love songs, dance sans the music, and make a Pablo Neruda in every soul. Indeed, love is a many splendored thing. Love makes the world go round. Love is all we need.

Another song said that “learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all”. Very inspiring, and I believe most people agree. Loving oneself is very important when we are aspiring for personal success. Examine the lines of the song The Greatest Love of All. It is all about personal success, of being dependent on oneself. This is the song when one is trying to jump from the life of struggle to the life of success.

Your love means more than life to me. God’s love means more than life to me. I am now asking myself whether I have said this line in the presence of God. I am sure that I have a told one girl that her love means more than life to me. That I will love here beyond eternity. That she was the best thing that ever happened to me.

Your love means more than life to me. Have we said the same line to God? Are we ready to face any suffering in life, or even die, because we love God? Are we ready to give up our dreams and throw away our detailed life plans to response to his call?

A life of surrender, therefore, is not a life driven by purpose. A life of surrender is a response to God’s love.
