You can increase your knowledge and enhance your skills through reading. People who know how to read but do not have no advantage over those who cannot. Through reading you can put into motion your potentials, learn how to improve your relationship with people, find valuable tools in leadership, and think of ways to increase your value a hundredfold. Through reading you will partake of the experiences and lessons learned by others without having to go through the same struggles again. Through reading we can set our standards higher. We’ll discover new vistas of opportunities.
I intend to make this site a rich resource for you. Please expect that in the future you will read articles in the following categories:
Personal effectiveness. You will find useful tips on how to improve your performance at work and apply useful tools that worked for other people. I’ve read alot about this subject and I like to share with you some of them. One book that I read recently was The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, the 15 Second Principle, and the Purpose-Driven Life. I suggest that you pick any of these books at once, and journey with me as I discuss some of the principles I learned from these books and others.
Stress Management. I intend to share with you the principles I shared and discovered every time I conduct Stress Management workshops. You can read hundreds of tips somewhere in the Net, and I admit some of them are products of years of research. Most of them however are in the province of theories and discussions which a lesser mortal like me have no interest. There are so many things we can discuss about Stress Management, but we don’t have to learn them all at once. I don’t want to stress myself with so much writing. Once a month, or may be even once a week, I will share with you some tips. You can also share your own tips. You can go directly here.
Time Management. I am not a master of time management. I procrastinate a lot. That’s not a joke. This is also why I have a very strong interest with time management. I read a lot of literature and bought books about the subject (I have one for teachers). Many of the tips I found just made my life stressful. To-do list and scheduling are important tools. But what will really make time management easy is to accept that you cannot manage your time–only your task. That it is not prioritizing your schedule, but scheduling your priority. Actually, time management is more than that, that’s why we have this separate category.
Touching Lives. I teach (and write) to touch lives forever. Or at least in my lifetime. I really don’t have that ambition to be in the history books. Or for people to create a monument when I die. I simply want to express my love. Articles in this category aim to help teachers, pastors, priest, parents, and anyone who intend to touch people’s lives to learn something from me, and I from them.
Personal Leadership. I want to become an effective leader. The first step is to develop my personal leadership. If you are interested in this subject, you will find the articles worth reading. Or share what you know.
Extraordinary Managers. Train your managers. Look forward to articles in this subject. I will also share with you downloadable materials. Feel free to print the materials and share with your employees.
Into His Presence. This article comes out every Sunday. This is something personal to me. I have another blog for this, but I decided to share them now with you. I realized that the most important thing in life is not to be successful or significant. The one important thing is to surrender my life to my maker. Most people focused their time on career. They forgot about life and love.
Teamwork. I have gathered many materials on how you can build your team. One cannot be a leader if he or she is not a team person. I also conduct teambuilding programs, so you will surely read best practices, principles, theories, and tips in teambuilding here.
Motivating Employees. Nothing motivates more than your sincerest motivation to help others. There are thousand of ways to motivate your employees, you simply need to figure out how. I intend to publish short tips about employee motivation every Monday.
Speak Like a Leader. This will be a series of articles which executives will find useful. I intend to finish writing the booklet first, and when I am done, I will post the individual pages here. Please email me if you want to get a copy of the booklet.
High Impact Presentations. This will also be a series of articles about presentations, but given the number of questions I get everyday, I intend to publish more articles when I finish writing a book or booklet. For the meantime, I suggest you go to my original blog: jefmenguin.wordpress.com where you will find many articles on presentation skills.
Confident Communication. This is my favorite. So please expect that I will have more articles that contain practical tips you can use to become confident communicators. I will share with you my thoughts on delivery skills and developing content. You will find thousands of tips in the Internet, but there are powerful principles here which you cannot find anywhere.
The Good News. I am collecting information about people and events which I consider to be good news. A lot of people are defeated by hopelessness and helplessness. I believe that showing them the good things other people are doing around the world can help them realize that we can do something. We cannot afford to be hopeless.
You will have more opportunities for reading by downloading the ebooks I will share with you in this site. You will also read about authors and bloggers whom I think deserve your attention. If you are a manager, encourage your employees to register in this blog today. Help them improve themselves through reading.
